Rules and Regulations Formentera TRAIL 21.1

Art. 1 Organization

ZITOWAY Sport & amp; Adventure of Modena , creator of the rece and custodian of the brand, takes care of the general and sports organization of the “ FORMENTERA TRAIL 21.1 ” which will take place on June 1, 2019 on the island of Formentera in the Baleares (Spain).
The technical and tourist organization is carried by Alpitour and distribution in Italy, is managed by specialized travel agencie Born to Run- Melville of Reggio Emilia

Art. 2 Definition of the Race

The “ FORMENTERA TRAIL 21.1 ” is a foot race over a distance of about 21 km.
It can be completed running and walking (Nordic walking) or in mixed gait between running and walking, except for the respect of the maximum authorized time. For the Nordic Walking category the program is equivalent to the runner’s one with timing and ranking, while for the Walkers the test is without time and without final classification with maximum freedom in the choice of distance.

Art. 3 Acceptance of the Regulations

The entry to the competition by the competitors is in fact the element of acceptance of this regulation in all its forms and in all its amendments and authorizes the organization to any type of modification intervention of the same during the event as from next art. 15.

Art. 4 Conditions for admission to registration

Competitors must be over 18, of both sexes. Italian participants will have to present a medical certificate issued by a sports medicine center certified with a stress test, certifying their suitability to participate in this race. For Spanish and foreign participants the rules of their country apply and they do not have to present a medical certificate. All participants must sign a release against the organization for the discharge of responsibility.

Art. 5 Categories

There will be two official categories:
Running
Nordic Walking


Walkers divided in Men and Women

Art. 6 Checks

The checks will take place on the morning of Friday, May 31 and will concern the control of the certificates and the administrative requirements.
At the end the numbered bibs will be delivered and must be carried for the entire duration of the race and must not be cut or modified and must show the marks shown on it.

ART. 7 Competition procedure

The departure will be given in a group at the agreed time during the technical briefing. There are three refreshment points with water and other things but a water bottle is recommended with a quantity of at least 0.50 liters. Particularly important heat conditions may occur. The abandonment of waste along the track by the competitors will cause their immediate exclusion from the
race

ART. 8 The markings

The entire route will be marked by the organization using colored strips or boards, this will be the axis of the route that the competitors will have to follow.
It is not possible to make cuts to the route.

Art. 9 The track

The race takes place in paths and dirt roads with some passages on sand and close to the sea, stretches of cliff with an uneven ground. The routes are entirely designed on secondary dirt roads with very low traffic, but not closed.

Art. 10 Withdraw

In case of withdrawal, the competitor must remove the bib number from the t-shirt avoiding the transit on the finish line area.

Art. 11 Ranking

Runners category: Race times will be registered in hours, minutes, seconds. The final classification will obviously reward the shortest time spent, same as for the Nordic Walking Category, while for the Walkers only order of arrival without a time classification will be shown.

Art. 12 Medical and insurance assistance

Medical assistance is provided during the race. Competitors participate under their responsibility, the organization will be relieved of any responsibility for accident, falls or illness during the race, and individuals cannot assign responsibility to third parties even in the event of contact or accident caused by them. The organization that is relieved of all responsibility in the event of injury, death or damage suffered by the athletes during the race, will take out an insurance policy with a Spanish company covering the accident during this competition, valid for both Runners and Walkers The organization also holds an RSA civil liability insurance policy. Sun Insurance Office ltd N. 1006.1000002256 with a ceiling of € 1,000,000.00. For participating competitors with the complete travel package, a standard travel insurance policy is provided which also covers the risk of medical repatriation signed by the tour operator.

Art. 13 Image coverage

All exclusive rights to use the images of “Formentera TRAIL 21.1” are the organizers. The competitors, with the registration, allow to have their name and their image to the organization.
Every photographic, video or cinematographic support realized during the race cannot be used by the competitors if not for private use, except with an special authorization.

Art. 14 Prize ceremony

The award ceremony will take place saturday afternoon at the Riu La Mola and will cover the first 3 of the male and female category, the remaining prizes will be awarded with criteria not related to sports performance and involves all participants.
For each competitor who has reached the finish line, a souvenir medal will be provided.

Art. 15 Organizational rights

The Race Director reserves the right to intervene and modify, in his unquestionable judgment and for the reasons he will report at the briefing, points concerning the performance of the competition of this regulation. The race direction also reserves the right to modify the track at its own discretion, or the mileage of the test due to the weather conditions, or for safety or technical / organizational reasons.
